When we got married, Tommy and I felt God leading us to the Boise area. It seemed, with all the new construction, a good place for Tommy’s work as an electrician, and a good place for me to use the skills God has given me to start up a thrift store ministry. With the thousands of people moving to the area, housing and grocery costs are consistently rising and there is an increase in need. A need for a place people can go where will be able to afford items like clothing and basic household items. AND — where they will experience the love of God.

Since then, God has been slowly opening doors and showing the way…while doing other things like growing me spiritually, and giving us a little girl, who is 6 months old now. 

October 7th, 2025 it seemed time to move faster, so a group of interested people gathered together to talk of the vision and mission of THE HEM Thrift Store Ministry. Over the next month those who had shown aninterest in being on the board of directors met up several times. And…Nov 11th the first of the official paperwork, the Articles of Incorporation were sent in! We eagerly look forward to seeing how God moves in the upcoming months!
