Life goes on.

September started out with myself(Susanna) not feeling well at all. After a workout with Tommy one day I felt very nauseous. The nausea continued throughout the entire weekend, and…. Sept 2nd we discovered we are GOING TO BE PARENTS! We are thrilled!

I experienced a heavy dose of morning sickness the entire month. I attempted at first to continue with the volunteering schedule and plans that had been made to partner with more ministries. But mid-month at the end of a more strenuous volunteering opportunity in a stuffy warm environment I experienced a brief fainting episode on my way out. I was not hurt(besides a jammed finger) and I later found out this is something not that rare to happen to pregnant women, but we decided to make some changes. Not to stop stepping forward with THE HEM, but to do so in a different way.

October continued very much the same as September. There were easier days, but also times I struggled even to keep liquids down. I did the best I could to trust the Lord knew what He was doing.

November mid-month my health finally began to improve. I was able to do some work on the website, other paperwork and foundational things for the ministry. We were able at the end of the month to visit my family for Thanksgiving in Iowa, as well pay a visit to the thrift store ministry I used to head up there. I am happy to say the manager it was left to is doing an excellent job, along with the faithful volunteers. Ministry to the community in Marshalltown, IA continues to thrive!

TARGET VERSES:

“As for God, his way is perfect…” Psalm 18:30

“He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.” Duet. 32:4

PHRASE: “My timing is PERFECT.” That is what God quietly told me right before “pregnant” showed up on the pregnancy test, and that phrase has brought me peace these last few months. This pregnancy *is* coming at just the perfect time even if it didn’t make sense(ministry-wise) and seemed to come just when things were starting to get rolling for THE HEM.

The details such as the “what/when/how and where” regarding THE HEM will also be absolutely perfect because it will all be His doing, in His timing. I can get impatient, but He knows the absolute best timing for every detail that goes on in this world He created. Especially the beginning of a ministry devoted to sharing Him and His Love with those in need. ♥

LESSONS LEARNED: Trust God’s wisdom. Trust His timing.
